Can I connect a second monitor to my iMac iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015)

iMac 27″, macOS 10.15

Those ports are called "Thunderbolt".

You should look for a monitor with an HDMI port for output. You will then need an HDMI cable and this adapter: Belkin 4K Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter - Apple.

Which port on the iMac? I have 4 standard USB ports and 2 with like a lightning bolt (don't know what they are called)

What port do I need on the monitor? What port is compatible on that end that will connect with the iMac?

Your iMac supports up to two external displays, plus the internal one.

If the display has DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort, use a Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort cable from one the iMac's Thunderbolt/Mini DisplayPorts.
