I am constantly setting off the swiping when using Mail, and just want to disable this function. All the tutorials require enabling "Classic Layout" which no longer seems to be in preferences. Is there any fix for this?

One an always send Apple some Feedback to possible future Features Requested. As for the other thing, I just go back to Powerbook 12 G4 and Tiger. What a machine.

Not certain if it can be turned off directly in Mail. Experiment with Mouse Control >> More Gestures and untick Swipe between pages in System Preferences
