Should I wait for the 16-inch M1 Macbook Pro?

Hey. I'm a design student living in Turkey. I have Macbook Air (2017) and this mac does not provide my expectations, especially while using design programs (such as Adobe Premiere). I'm thinking of buying a Macbook Pro but I cannot decide which one should I buy. I really like the 16-inch screen because while using programs big screen makes my job easier. But I read about how M1 chip makes the program using progress way easier. So, I can't decide. I really wanted to buy 16-inch m1 but its release date still undetermined. Do you know anything about 16-inch m1? Should I wait for it? Thank you:)

If it were me, I would wait for the next generation Mx SoC and see what is offered— beyond the introductory M1.

Your other option is purchase the Intel 16" MBP16,1 with the added AppleCare+ (3 yr warranty) if you need a machine today. with the added warranty my experience is you get a better re-sale value if you decide to move over/up to a new Mx SoC machine as the roll out continues.

I have no added insight, and it is against the TOU here to speculate on pre-released hardware.

I must say —I am quite fond of my Intel MBP16,1 and believe you get more bang for the buck cf. the early Apple M1, the first ARM-based system on a chip (SoC) MBP.

I recently switched from a MacBook Pro (15 inch - Late 2013) Retina display to the new MacBook Pro 13 inch Retina M1 with 16 GB and 2 TB SSD.

I was concerned about going smaller, but the experience has been fantastic; this new machine is incredibly fast, runs cool (I have yet to have the fan come on) battery life of well over 8+ hours. I still have my old machine, and it is a nice backup, but I am thrilled with the new one and the price / value.

I have plugged it into an external monitor, and no issues at all. Yes, guessing that an M1 at 16 inch is coming out at some point, but based on how nice the 13-inch size / weight ratio is, not sure I'd want a bigger Laptop—just my thoughts.
