HELP What’s the condition for adding Apple care plus?

Im thinking to buy one apple product from the ebay which device is not previously activated at all so i was thinking to have it covered with apple care plus after purchasing it.

After few hours of searching infos id say im quite lost how to purchase apple care plan

What ive read is it is eligible for 60 days from the day of purchase and other says it’s from the day you activated the device what’s correct??

Thing is the device mustve been dead stock that seems to surpassed the 1 year warranty itself but still not activated, under this condition can i still add apple protection plan after i activate the device?

I'd Skip It:

Note that with eBay, you can't see this upfront, firsthand from your eyes - lots of scams are reported on these forums - particularly ones regarding a device not having been deauthorized from the seller's Apple Account. I'll leave it at that.

Ive seen that there’s a section where you can modify the date of purchase by submitting some kind of documentations or sth. Since it’s brand new basically without having been activated i guess i could modify the date of purchase that way so that i could apply for the apple care plus?

+ So what’s the point of activation then?

The warranty starts the day it is originally sold.

The window for purchasing Applecare plus also starts the day it is sold.
