HomePod can't use shortcuts from IOS device?

It can, but not any that rely on an app on the iOS device, and there are likely other limitations caused by the interface. I have created several that port over, such as ones that turn on my lamp to a particular colour and brightness or another that can speak the name and IP address of my HomePod's Wi-Fi connection.
