Apple USB SuperDrive

What does it mean when it says "usb accessory needs power" when I plug the superdrive into my Mac via adapter?

The Superdrive requires electrical power from the host (Your MacBook) to work. If you connect it directly to your MacBook (with the right cable) then it will work. It appears that your adapter may not be supplying electrical power to your SuperDrive. Try the adapters recommended in the link appearing above your name (original post) and follow the provided guidance.
