Years ago there was an option in Mac Mail to highlight an email. It made it very easy when scrolling through hundreds of emails to find the one that was highlighted. And, although some of those emails still show highlighted in my Mail app today, it seems the ability to highlight new emails has gone away. Is this true? Here is an example of what I'm referring to:
iMac Line (2012 and Later)
Format Menu > Show Colors.
Pick a color for the selected message(s).
A Rule can also set the color of a message.

Wow, that's interesting, simply because I don't recall using this method in the past. Was it an option in a context menu in past versions of Mac Mail?

I can't remember if it was available outside of a Rule other than setting the color with the Color Panel.
