iPhone 12 Pro Max not responding, won't turn off

I have tried all the means to do a hard reset but none will work. My phone won't respond to anything and won't turn off. I need to get it to restart.

See the 'If your screen is black or frozen' section in:

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen - Apple Support

"iPhone 8 or later: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo."

If that doesn't work, then see the other sections.
