I cannot see the clock face on my Apple watch SE when I wrist raise. It gradually comes on if I turn the crown. How can I correct this?

Swipe up on the watch face and see if you have theatre mode turned on.

On the Watch app on your phone, make sure Wake on Wrist Raise is turned on (General > Wake Screen.)
Thank you for replying. I've had theatre mode turned on. Turning it off has solved the problem.
