Why is the Date/Time option grayed out under Insert in Numbers 10.3.9 (and how do I make it an option that I can select)?

Have you selected the cell (one click) AND placed the insertion point in the cell (second click) into which you want to insert the D&T value?

Why not just use Insert Current Date or Insert Current Time in the Table menu, or the relevant keyboard shortcuts?

That way, you don't have to worry about double-clicking a cell and all that. Just select a cell and make the menu pick or type the keyboard shortcut.
