Most of my clips import into imovie without a problem, but every once in a while I get one that suffers from color degradation or exposure issues. Any way to fix this?

Thanks!

That might be happening if your clip was taken with the new iPhone using using the HDR format. There have been reports about color degradation and exposure issues with the HDR format, as iMovie for Mac does not yet support it. You can disable HDR from your iPhone settings when exporting.

iMovie for iPhone does support HDR, so you could do your project there and use AirDrop to transfer it to the Downloads folder on your Mac. When you double click on it in the Downloads folder it will open as a new iMovie for Mac project without the color and exposure issues that you experienced.

Take a look at this link, particularly the post by riz_uwu toward the end (for the iPhone settings).
