In-app purchases

My Apple.com gift card has been added and allowed 1 purchase since then (for a game from Big Fish). It has not permitted me to make any in-app purchases since then. I get the error "could not be processed, contact Apple support". I have gone through everything suggested; user name, credit card info, screen time permissions (not enabled at all), signing out of apple completely, restarting, etc. Nothing has worked. I did get this card electronically from Amazon. I am beyond frustrated - any help?
