Bose Speakers will connect but not play audio

My BOSE Soundlink Color II will connect to my mac but it wont play audio. it still comes out of the computer speakers.

iMac 21.5″, macOS 11.2

Did you go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Sound > Output and select the Bose Speakers?

Can't connect blue tooth speakers to mac mini I have a mac mini with a Bose soundlink portable speaker that has been connected for quite a while. I recently purchased an inexpensive headphone and both were working fine with the mac mini. Now neither of them will connect and stay connected. I totally disconnected the Bose speaker and it has paired with the device, but same thing, won't stay paired. I saw some similar issues, but didn't see where they were really resolved. I hope someone has something that will help me get these working again, for now the mac mini is all I have to work on, or watch movies on or anything for a few weeks. Sorry I posted twice, but I cannot find my original post.

cannot use bose mini II soundlink After using the MBP with M1 cpu, my bose speaker (bose mini II soundlink) could not be shown as an output of sound even if it has connected with Mac by bluetooth. The Bluetooth could show the device a few seconds. But Sound does not show the device. After a few seconds, the device disconnects from the MBP automatically. I'm wondering if anyone meets the same situation. And how should I fix this problem. The OS version is 11.2.2.

Did you go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Sound > Output and select the Bose Speakers?

Click on the Sound icon in the Menu bar and select them as the output source.

Thanks. I’m not sure why I didn’t think of that. I have to do that with my airpods all the time
