Shift Command 5 for screenshots taking so long in my new mac mini m1

Recently purchase new mac mini m1. fresh installed apps. got the usual but i guess less bloat than my old mac air since I tend to install lots of apps after many years.

Lately I've been noticing that to take screenshot with Shift-Command-5 takes almost a minute for it to appear.

Help pls.

You're welcome.

Hmm... sounds like there could be some other activity hogging up your resources.

To check, open your Activity Monitor and look at both the CPU and RAM tabs.

Might also be a good idea to run EtreCheck and post back here with your Report.

FWIW my 2012 Mac's Mini running Mojave and my 2018 Mac Mini running Catalina.

All instantly go to the Camera Icon when I click on the Shift-Command-5 keys.

Then a left click (w/timer set to 0) gets me a desktop Image in 5 or 6 seconds.

Thanks for the help Den, but that is not my problem. I believe your solution is the duration of the capture.

My problem is that the screen capture itself takes more than a minute before it appears or me to actually do a screen capture. Example, I presee shift command 5, wait 1 minute or more, before the option bar actually appears. This did not happen in my previous mac air.
