Restore to new iPhone using backup done on older version of iTunes?

I’m still using an iPhone 7, with an OLD iOS, 12.1

My PC is running iTunes 12.x

I realize that my phone is probably coming to the end of

it’s lifespan, so will be getting a new one, most likely in the not too distant

future.

Once I get a new phone, which will be the latest iOS

version, I’ll probably have to go to the latest version of iTunes.

Will I be able to RESTORE everything on my current phone,

to the new phone using a backup made on iTunes 12.x?

Thanks in advance

Barb

Yes, you will be able to restore with it. You can restore a new phone from a backup done with an older iOS but not the reverse.
