I got a message on my iPhone 11 saying that my battery and phone are in jeopardy due to a detected malware and I needed to download an app to reduce further damage. It looked completely legit with Apple logo - etc.
I did not open or install anything.
please confirm this is a scam.

That is a scam. Apple does not send messages like that. Ignore it and don’t provide any personal information.
