Migration assistant with new 16" MacBook Pro [Intel Processor]

I purchased a new 16" MacBook Pro with Intel chip and have updated macOS to Big Sur 11.2.3 My old MacBook Pro is a mid 2012 running macOS Catalina 10.15.7 Any tips on using migration assistance in this situation ?

The most trouble free way to move to a new machine, is using the Setup Assistant on the initial boot of a brand new machine— you have one shot here. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205749


If that opportunity has past, the second best way is use the Migration Assistant.
