Depends on the model. The Magic Keyboard is compatible with the first and second-generation 11-inch ‌iPad Pro‌ models and the 3rd and 4th-generation 12.9-inch ‌iPad Pro‌ models. That means all of the ‌iPad Pro‌ models from 2018 and 2020, as well as the new iPad Air 4 (2020).

However, there are two keyboard models that Apple makes, the Magic Keyboard and the Smart Keyboard. The main difference between the two is that the latter has no trackpad. To use a Smart Keyboard, you need an iPad (7th or 8th generation), iPad Air (3rd generation), iPad Pro 9.7-inch, iPad Pro 10.5-inch, or a 1st or 2nd gen iPad Pro 12.9-inch.

To see what model iPad you have, go to Settings > general > about > model name.

Hope this helps.
