battery not charging

hello, everyone.

every time I plug in my MacBook Air to charge, it says it connected to my power adapter, but "the battery is not charging." what the heck does that mean?

also, my Macbook air takes forever to charge even when I don't have many applications open.

Does anyone know why it says my battery isn't charging?
