I’d also encourage an update to iOS 14.4.2 on your iPhone XR, if you’re still running iOS 13.
Open Settings ➔ Apple ID (Your Name at Top) ➔ iCloud ➔ Manage Storage ➔ Change Storage Plan ➔ Downgrade Options : Here, choose the Free 5GB plan.
