Should/can I leave Macbook plugged in while "on hold"?

Should/can I leave Macbook plugged in while "on hold"? Does it damage the battery if I leave it plugged in or should I unplug it once it says "on hold"? It currently holds at 81%.

MacBook Pro 13" running Big Sur.

Thanks in advance.
