Activity rings not including run

I used the workout function to go on a run on my new apple watch for the first time today - I notice the activity rings have not updated to include this. The intensity of exercise was definitely sufficient to count towards them and location services are all enabled (I can see all the workout data/route/distance etc. both on my watch and on my phone).

Does anyone have any ideas?

Did it not update at all? Or only partially? All 3 rings?

The first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.
