How to check iphone Model?

Here are the steps of finding your Model No (only if you don't know)

Go to the Settings app.

There will be your Apple ID profile photo and your name at the top. Tap on it.

Click on the first device, which will be your iPhone; it will be named your device. Select it.

The Model can be found under Device Info.

When it comes to the issues where you do not know if this is original or a Japanese copy, then I recommend you check model numbers and then read this stuff.

What is the model number?

The A2172 is listed as an iPhone 12 (not Pro, not Pro Max) for the US market.

So, what leads you to believe it is a “Japanese copy”?

Well, hopefully you didn’t purchase it as an iPhone 12 Pro Max.

What is the “other” model number: The one in Settings/General/About labeled “Model Number"
