My wife and I use to share an iPhone XR, now she has an iP11 and I keep the XR. How do we stop getting each other's text?

Now that my wife and I have separate iPhones how do we stop getting each other's text messages?

Use the following instructions to erase the old phone and then set it up using your own Apple ID. It is almost always not a good idea to share the same Apple ID. What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support


You can each have your own Apple ID and still share selected things via Family Sharing: Family Sharing - Apple
