Alphabetizing Folders in Mail

I've had this issue for ~1 year now. I change folder names or added new folders in Mail, and it just puts the new/newly named folders at the BOTTOM of the list of folders. I use BlueHost webmail (iMap?) and the order of the folders looks fine in the open source webmail program, but not in Apple Mail.

I rename the folders so I can have better access; putting it at the bottom of list defeats the purpose. I've researched online before. It seems to be a problem for others.

Thank you very much :)

I have Big Sur 11.2.3

ok. that's not the behaviour i would expect. maybe try starting up in safe mode then see if the drag and drop method works.

please see this article: Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support

note that safe mode loads MUCH slower.
