How do I retrieve deleted text messages.... I deleted by accident?

You can’t retrieve deleted texts, that’s why there’s an “are you sure” type dialog when you delete messages. If you don’t use iCloud message sync (Settings/[your name]/icloud/Messages OFF) you can restore an iCloud or iTunes backup that contains the lost messages. This will overwrite everything on your phone, however, not just the missing messages.
