Hi,
The easiest way may be to try to make one of the PowerBook computers work. A PowerBook 5300cs has an internal IDE drive, but could use a SCSI drive connected externally via the HDI-30 port. Any additional information about the problems?
A bad battery may put a heavy load on the power supply. If so, one can often run a PowerBook with the battery removed (but a working power adapter would of course be needed).
Otherwise, you would have to look for another pre-1998 Macintosh computer, and connect the SCSI hard drive internally or externally (via an appropriate cable connector/adapter).
