Text Notifications

I have all of my text notifications set to silent. I would like to have my notifications alert me for two people, but when I followed instructions posted in the Apple Community from 2020 addressing this, I tried it and the notifications turn on for all contacts for some reason. Can anyone help with this?

Hi stormiii,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today with your text notifications. It sounds like you want to have alerts always on for two Contacts.

Check out: Change message notifications on iPhone.

You should be able to do this by following:

"Assign a different ringtone to a contact

Open Contacts, then select a contact.
Tap Edit, then tap Text Tone.
Choose an option below Alert Tones.

To allow alerts for messages sent by this contact even when Do Not Disturb is on, turn on Emergency Bypass."
