Apple TV remote

My Apple TV remote broke. Can I replace it with a newer version with out upgrading my Apple TV 3 for a newer version?

The Apple Remote (aluminum) is available by itself: Apple Remote (aluminum) - Apple TV accessories - Apple Store online

The newer model Siri Remote isn’t compatible with Apple TV (3rd generation), only with 4th gen or later.


New remotes will have to be linked to the box. If your Apple TV remote isn’t working - Apple Support
