No. it is not listed under System Report>Hardware>Camera, but if I hook up to other monitor, that monitor is listed there.

Does Photobooth show nothing? Nothing.

How old is the Mac? 2016

Has there been any spill or drop? Constant small drops, but no major trauma.

Do you have any external cameras connected? When I do, they work fine.

Apple diagnostics says no hardware problem. Etrecheck says no hardware problem.

Could there be a software screw-up?

Can we try a re-install of IOS?

Would that help?

And if so, could you arrange for someone to guide me by phone, please?

Thank you for your help.

Sign that the internal camera is dead or disconnected.

Both of those do not matter, Apple diagnostics generally just skips a test if a device isn't found.

Could there be a software screw-up?

Possibly, but not very likely.

That would be the thing to try, it shouldn't bother your user data.

But it's MacOS, iOS is for iPhones & iPads. :)
