I want to use my car built in gps/navigation while running CarPlay for other uses. How do I deactivate CarPlay and access my built in map?

You might be able to pair your phone via Bluetooth to play just audio, rather than using CarPlay. I believe CarPlay is an "all or nothing" function, which means you can't access the car's map system and keep CarPlay going.
