What to do if I forgot my iPod password?

Is there a way to get into an ipod if the password has been forgotten? I don't want to trash this $500 ipod

You can choose which "generation" of iPod touch you have, and follow the instructions.

If you forgot the passcode on your iPod touch, or your iPod touch is disabled:
