How to restore my contacts

If you were using "iCloud Contacts" then see the 'Restore your contacts or bookmarks from an earlier version' section in:

If you accidentally deleted your calendars, bookmarks, or contacts from iCloud - Apple Support

If not, then you need to restore them from a backup that has those contacts. See:

Be aware that restore is an all or nothing process. You cannot restore contests only (for example) and any information on your iPhone between now and when the backup was created will be lost.

What to Try:

Enable Contacts in iCloud:

Is Contacts enabled in iCloud Settings? If not, then enable it, and see if it pops up. If so, then it is gone amongst all devices associated to your Apple ID. So, to enable it:

1. Go to: Settings
2. Tap: your name (top item)
3. Tap: iCloud
4. Tap: Contacts (so that it is green)
