You can turn off guided access by clicking the side button 3 times quickly. 1 or 2 things will happen:

It shows a black border with the button End just click that end button and then enter the Guided Access password.
Several options will show up, one being guided access. Click guided access then click the End Button, and once again enter the Guided Access password.
