There is a white flag in the top right hand corner of my ipad home screen. Can anyone tell me what it means?

It might be on your wallpaper. Try to use a different one :--> Change the wallpaper on iPad - Apple Support

Does this flag appear only on your Home Screen pages - or when using Apps as well?
The “flag” is definitely not system generated. Appearing only on Home Screens and not when Apps are displayed would suggest that this an element of your chosen wallpaper image.
If the image has appeared only after setting your wallpaper image - and is not an element of the wallpaper image itself - then an installed App is generating the icon.
You’ve solved it! I’ve been wondering how to fix this for ages - thought I was being tracked or something and couldn’t find an answer anywhere! Thank you for your help, great that it was something so simple.
