Imported files from Time Machine INVISIBLE on new iMac!

I've just imported a lot of documents from a Time Machine backup (MacBook Air 2011 running Mavericks)

onto a new (to me) iMac running Mojave, using Migration Assistant. They all appeared to go across ok, took quite a while, but when I went to look for them on the iMac, they are INVISIBLE! Can't find them anywhere despite searching. Don't want to import again manually in case they are hiding somewhere and taking up a lot of space. Any ideas please??

Could you have created another user account?

Look in System preferences under the users.
