After downloading Big Sur, installer did not automatically start, in fact nothing happened. What do I do now?

I am currently running Sierra on an early 2015 MBP

If the full installer downloaded it will be sitting in your Applications folder, launch it from there:

"Install macOS Big Sur.app"

If you downloaded the Big Sur installer from the Apple downloads area, instead of the Mac App Store, then you do not have a full installer and it neither automatically starts nor will provide a full upgrade of Big Sur.

Upgrading your Mac from Sierra to Big Sur will require 45 GB of available storage before a full install will succeed.

Hi Simon. I'd be a bit leery about upgrading to Big Sur at the moment. I upgraded on the 2014 Mac and it's been nothing but constant crashes. Sometimes as many as 5 in a 4 minute period. Other times, it will go all afternoon without an issue. I realize others haven't had any issues. However, on an older Mac, I'd be very, very careful about uploading Big Sur. I'm still struggling with issues. Brings back nightmares from my MicroSh*t days.
