iTunes Remote app not connecting to iTunes

MacBook Pro running Big Sur Version 11.4

iPhone 11 running iOS 14.6

Since updating to Big Sur 11.4, when I try to connect to the iTunes library in the Remote app on my iPhone, it just stays on “Connecting to my Library…” in the app without ever actually connecting. The phone shows up in iTunes and I’m able to enter the code it provides to link the two, but it never

actually connects. Any ideas on how to fix? Thank you.

Had the same problem and got it working.

You have to switch on Home Sharing on both your Mac and in your Remote app.

Now your Remote app will not find your library yet, but stick with me.

In the settings of your Remote app, while leaving the Home Sharing option on, you will have to add another library(that doesn’t support Home Sharing or whatever) and you connect to your Music app on your Mac manually like you did in the first place, with the 4 digits code.

Now it should connect to your Mac like it used to before..

It’s definitely a bug, but this fixed it for me. For now at least..
