Calling issue

I'm using my iphone 5s. When I use it for phon calls the person at the other end can't hear me clearly. I thought this was an microphone issue. I removed my phone case as I thought it was the one causing trouble. Still the same thing happens. But I've tried recording voice memos and the microphone is completely fine! What could possibly cause the problem? TIA
