How can i access my icloud backups? I want to know specifically what is in there as it is taking up most of my storage.

Click on this link to read how to 'Manage your iCloud storage' --> https://support.apple.com/HT204247 - including seeing how much storage you have and how to delete items stored in iCloud such as backups, photos, files, mail, messages and voice memos.
You can't view the contents of individual backups. Some may not even be very large because if you use iCloud to sync certain items then they are not in a backup itself but in the various pigeonholes for iCloud services.
