Just telephone calls? Do other alerts sound?

Is the mute (side) switch set to mute?

Is the do-not-disturb setting enabled?

Or is the alert volume too low to hear?

Airplane mode?

Is a paired Watch set to mute, and set to mirror its settings to the iPhone?
