Deleting file in Time Machine under Big Sur

I know in the past, it was possible to go into Time Machine and 'surgically' delete backups of a given file (by right-clicking and selecting 'Delete all backups of this file...'.)

Do I understand correctly that this functionality has been removed from Time Machine under Big Sur, for reasons allegedly related to the change in the file system?

Short of wiping the TM drive and starting anew, are there any other options?
