System Photo Library grayed out?

On my Mac the photos library location is "show in finder" and my system photo library is grayed out. Is this why I cannot upload recent pics while using another app? When I try to change a photo or upload a photo in an app it takes me to some folders under pictures. How do I correct?

Do you mean your system library button in preferences is greyed out? If so, then your photo library is already your system library.


When uploading to other apps, or websites, you need to select "photos" (in the media section) not the "pictures" folder. Like this:
