Occasionally I can’t type more than one word in a field

I have a new IPad Pro version 5 running System 14.6 (or whatever the latest is). Sometimes I start to type a word in a field and it will only type one word and then stop. I can’t get it to move or anything.

Once in a great great while this happens on my MacBook Air, but my IPad and the last IPad too does it quite often.

Do any of you have any ideas what I can do about it?

Assuming that your wifi network is reliable and fast, sometimes, in such a situation, a "forced" restart of your iPad can be useful:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top (power) button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top (power) button. Only when the Apple logo appears (it might take 20-40 seconds), release that button (ignore all other screens that might appear).

If the issue persists and if you're sure that your wifi connection is good, contact Apple Support, using this link:--> Get Support
