I no longer use email address used for icloud. How can I change my email address and password?

You had a mail address say example1@gmail.com , it was an Apple ID signed in previously and now it's not used as a email address for iCloud .
You can't change email address as its permanent however password can be changed on web server .
I have the same problem. I have an email address which has been deleted from my Mac and I now keep getting an iCloud message dialog box (repeated twice every time) saying that "I can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with the email address" How do I change email address linked to iCloud. I have tried going into my Apple account, there is nothing to indicate that I can change the email address for iCloud anywhere. Messages are driving me mad!
Was the mail address erased from web server permanently , can you post a a screen shot of it ( be careful don't post mail address , hide it using preview ) .
