How do I connect apple tv to a television without and HDMI port?

The Apple TV box needs a TV/screen/monitor/projector with HDMI-in.

Adapters will not work with many services, as commercial content is protected with HDCP, which will not work through signal conversions.


Do you mean you still have an analog TV? Why? It doesn’t work with anything today.

Thank you. My mother kept that old TV and has been using it only to watch videos. I thought I would buy her an Apple TV unit instead of her old videos. Looking at the price of converters, and reading your answer above, I think it will be better to buy her a new TV as well. Once again, thank you so very much!
