First - w/o any reservation whatsoever - you DEF should use a password manager.

The only question then becomes which one.

Apple’s keychain is very good at sharing across your Apple devices.

Other third-party apps are out there which run the gamut of features.

Try some out and see how they meet your needs.

(Detailed discussion of selection criteria is well beyond the scope of this forum)

Let the computer work for you.

Use it.

Passwords today recommended 16 random characters: ex. C?yWjX:vHpp8LQ'&

this is nearly impossible task to hand write out on paper all the characters and camel case— and wrought with error in it self.

Yes you can make notes: ex

COFFEE ? yelp WALMART jack XBOX : visa HULU park park 8 LAPTOP QUEEN ' &

Why complicate the process.

YW.

As Leroy pointed out, complex passwords are important … DIFFERENT passwords for each site/service are ESSENTIAL.

The ONLY way to SECURELY keep track of your different passwords - and usernames - is with a cryptologically-secured password manager.

My own method it to use a 3rd Party Passsword Manager as my “Cross-Platform Master Password Manager” … and then use Apple’s Keychain with a smaller subset (of the master) for those items were the convenience afforded by integrated keychain functionality makes sense.

Exactly why I DON’T use the big, well-known “free commercial” packages.

I eschew “tightly integrated” too. (with the exception of those items selectively added to Apple Keychain)

Simple and Standalone (with lots of manual backing-up) is the method for me.

Password Manager or Don't do.
