Word for Mac

So the other day I got an OS Big Sur update, on a MBAir, and iMac.

NOW, my "Word for Mac" is not showing a white page with a black font.

I changed the page color to white, but a black font does not appear.

Any other color seems to be visible. I know how to change font colors, but black just won't show.

When I type, it almost looks translucent.

HELP!

And thanks.

In Word, open preferences.

On the general tab, either choose "Turn Off Dark Mode" or "Dark Mode has a white page color".
