Old iTunes store ID/apple ID , password lost is popping up

I am helping a friend to get her new Macbook Air 2020 running properly. An indication is given that there are updates from the Appstore. However, when you want to update any of the apps an old appleID shows up and requires the corresponding password. My friend does not remember the password and , unfortunately, has not written it anywhere.

What can I do to get rid of this old id without having access to the corresponding password?

Hi hanhau!

It sounds like you're being prompted for an old Apple ID password when updating apps, and we're happy to help. The only way to prevent that will be to uninstall the apps and reinstall them from the App Store using your current Apple ID.

Cheers!
