Touch ID Not Working For Purchases

On my Mac, I can use Touch ID to log in to my computer account and unlock preferences in System Preferences, but I can't use Touch ID to make purchases in the Apple Store Apps (App Store, Book Store, etc.). I have Touch ID set to be used for purchases in System Preferences, but I always have to use my password. How do I fix this?

Hi Tehya37,

Welcome to the Apple Community, where some of us do our best to help each other.

Seems there are two places in System Preferences that need to be authorised, to enable Touch ID for media purchases.

Wondering which one you have activated ok.

You might want to try checking your settings in System Preferences for both:

"Apple ID" > "Media + Purchases > Purchases

and

"Touch ID" > "Use Touch ID for" > iTunes Store, App Store and Apple Books"

Hope this helps you fix the situation :)
